Dana 44 vacuume ???

I have a front Dana 44 from a 1984 Waggy.
Questions:
1) can the vacuume disconnect be easily converted to cable?

2) does a Vac axle use the same carrier and gears as a std 44?

3) are the shafts the same as a std 44?
