Will it also work with the York mounted horizontally instead of vertically?

Yes only the intake bracket for the york changes.

Is there a spring tensioner with that setup or do you just tighten the belt by swinging the alternator out?

No spring tensioner we wouldnt let that crap go into our system. The alternator and power steering are used for adjustment. With a 6 rib belt it doesnt take much tension to run everything. With a spring tensioner because of the speed of the belt it can only give up tension but not create more fast enough to help on the other side of the engine's accesorries.

hey matt,i put a goodyear gatorback on mine. runs silent as can be with less tension. it's the belt to be using, the gates are crap.
i use the power steering pump to set tension,i haven't touched the alternator since it was installed.

Gates are the best belt you can buy but the gatorback is good for misalignment. Since your kit was one of the few first prototypes with the Sanden I think its time for a upgrade to a new style bracket for the Alternator and we will cover the cost of a new belt if you have time in the next 3 weeks for a three day turn-around.

About $300 just in material....6 bearing...3 snap rings...$110 york pulley and hardware and we still havent machined anything yet. You can easily spend $1K on a chevy setup with ac on up to 3K.

I noticed that you have set the York compressor upright, instead of on its side, like Jeep did.
My question, does your kit supply a new mount or does the customer reuse their existing mount?

The picture shows the York right side up like it was installed in the cars. The OEM bracket is used only spaced out with the spacers that come with the kit. We do not supply the AC bracket.
