Front to Rear Track difference

I noticed it on mine and sure enough, '79 TSM says front tread is 65.4", rear is 62.3"
Why? I was RRing axle noise when I saw the difference...just curious

I've always heard it was to make turning easier. It is common practice, though; just about everything runs a narrower rear track than front track.

a wider track in the front will tend to cause a push condition.........at least it does in off road race car design....
