Alternator Upgrade

I have a Motorola 55-amp alternator on my '74 cherokee and would like to switch to a Delco high-amp unit. Has any one performed this type of conversion? If so, do you have to use a different alternator bracket?

The junker wagoneer I just bought has the high output alternator on it. It looks like a Delco but I haven't pulled it out yet.

It looks like it uses the same bottom bracket, but it has a very different top bracket.

Yes I have bolted up the high output alt to my rig and no mods a needeed it is the same form factor and probably was on some G.M. unit in a prior life. Its forturns are much better now, and the Jeep Gods are happy!
