IDK of a FSJ only club here in VA... but that doesnt mean we cant act like one. I am a member of Virginia Krawlers and NOVA Jeepers, but im in northern va. You have Military, Beltway, Nova, and various other jeep clubs.

I am ALWAYS down at the beach, its only a 4 hr ride. Shoot me your info and we can get together next time i come down.

I'm in VA too (Northern). I've been a member of Off Camber Crawlers (mostly a Jeep club but not exclusively) for years but recently let that lapse.

There is some great wheeling out in Gore Virginia at Big Dogs Events 4 times a year:

I know a lot of the Jeepers around here are either part of Tidewater 4x4 or The NCBBA. The NCBBA is really just to keep beach access open on the outer banks, but it's worth the dues just to help out(OBPA is good for that too). The other one I was a member of way back, but it had all the typical BS issues of most clubs and I dropped out. NOVA Jeepers is pretty good, or so I'm told. I've been noticing more and more FSJ'ers in the area and had thought about trying to get a meet-n-greet set up, but I don't ever follow through.

I'm in VA Beach, feel free to message me. I've actually been meeting a few other folks in the VA Beach area a guy with an 87? Wag and another with I believe a 91 G-Wag. There's also another guy I've seen with a black-colored G-Wag similar to me I've seen driving around with a trailer, and Chumley. I've encouraged these folks to join here for good info. (sans the guy I've seen driving, and Chumley, and Casey who're already members.) Feel free to shoot me a message!

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of start-up, it might be fun!

does anyone know what it would take to start up a FSJ club here in Virginia or at least a gathering? from my experience networking with other people in a club tend to help out a lot in either building or restoring a vehicle. I'm in the Virginia Beach area if anyone might be interested in this

To quote Nike...just do it! Start an email list of members here and talk to folks you see with FSJs. Post up here with events such as meet and greets. Just pick a day and time and see if anyone shows up.

That's how most of the clubs around here started.

Date, time, place and post up about a week ahead of time so that people can arrange to be there. Jenro's is a good place to meet up or Dumar's. Anyone else been around the area long enough to remember when the classic cars all hung out at Dumar's, not Jenro's?

How about a meet up next year at the Somerset Steam and Gas Pasture Party in Somerset, VA? The show was just this past weekend, but next years dates are Sept. 7, 8, and 9. There is a place for primitive camping in the back of the field. I saw a few M715s show up this year.

Im out in Lynchburg VA, looks like a few Virginians active on here. Ill keep my eye on this thread. Im also very interested in a meet and greet with other FSJeepers in the area but VA beach is quite the drive from Lynchburg.

I'm CG stationed in Elizabeth City, NC. To Chris in NC-Moyock, are you off of puddin ridge road? I've admired your rig many times on the way to blackwater. Let's do this! I need some FSJ friends to help me resurrect my Heep from it's rusty grave.

Looks like the VA membership is strong in this forum. Are there any Members who would like to take part in a Meet and Greet somewhere In central VA? Are there any wheeling spots that are centrally located to most VA FSJeepers or would a car show type format be better. Im not willing to be the sole organizer but I would like to collaborate with other members and "TRY" to organize something in the near future (say next 2 months). Even if its only to meet up at a restaurant and just show and tell our Jeeps. If you have any good Ideas throw them out there and maybe we can hammer out some plans.

That sounds like more of a plan than we had before. Richmond is a little drive for me but Id be willing to make the trip if we could get some other FSJeepers interested in a meet and greet. Im really surprised that this thread is so week. We need some action In VA. Im talking wheelin trips and Meet and greets. What do you think we could do to gain some support from other VA members?

best i can come up with is finding those in va on the forum, sending them a pm about the meet and greet. and hopefully get some kind of group together

Maybe a poll to help narrow down the time frame and meeting location. I know it will go over well if this is well organized and planed in advance. I want to meet some of yall and make some new Jeep connections. It would benefit the FSJ community in VA because as far as I know there is no official VAFSJ group:eek:. so i guess if you want to hang out with other FSJ guys in VA you have to plant it yourself:thumbsup:.

Some sort of PM is a good idea...I admit I NEVER look down farther than 'Off Topic' ....VA just happened to catch my eye

Shaggy I was in Lynchburg last weekend, got some seats from 'ThatGuy'-- nice guy!

Forrest (ThatGuy) is a really cool dude. Im sure that there are alot more cool people out there with FSJs that We could meet If we go through with this M&G. Ill get an email together this week and send it to the VA members that are in this thread. We will see what happens. Im thinking about shooting for the spring of 2012. Is that to far in advance or not advanced enough?
