Timing or fuel system HELP!

My jeep almost dies on acceleration and then responds quickly with a jolt and accelerates fine(if you push the pedal to the floor which is hard on gas). It idles fine and drives at constant speeds just fine. I thought maybe it would be a timing problem and adjusted it to the proper setting but it only fixes the problem for a day or two. if you have any clue at what it could be please let me know , thanks

I'd check the accelerator pump and linkage to see if it's working.

Make sure the vacuum advance line from the carb to the distributor is hooked up and intact (no cracks or splits). That's the easiest thimg to check.

As 64Trvlr said, the accelerator pump could also cause this. I had a hole in the diaphragm of mine at one time. I just rebuilt the whole carb while I was at it (actually I rebuilt the carb due to a bowl filling up with gas and discovered the other thing in the process)
