Hey! I'm from East Pierce County out in Buckley! There's a bunch of FSJ freaks in WA. I think we should start our own IFSJA club chapter (AKA, invading the ORV parks with Waggys, cheifs, and J's).
I see FSJ's all over here, but I've never seen more than one in the same place at the same time!

Hello there.
I am in Tacoma.
Have not been active here for awhile due to some health problems and a broken transmission.
But I'm back.

Wayne,
I think I saw you a couple weeks ago. I was delivering gas to the Safeway on Auburn Way and saw you fly by. I don't know why, but everytime I see a FSJ drive by I feel like chasing it down like a dog trying to bite the mailman.

No, our shifts are random. But my company has the contract for that station, so we're the only ones who do the Auburn Safeway. I usually go there a few times a month though.

Saw two more Washington FSJ's yesterday! One in Kirkland near Totem Lake, a off white (maybe yellow? I'm color blind) J20 with a razor grill. The other was a white woody Wagoneer parked at the Hockey Center in Tacoma! God, I love these rigs!!!!!

I'm thinkin we're due for another meet n' greet. I missed last year's trail run that TooRisky put together cause my GW wasn't running good enough, but I think I could go do something now.

A pickup would be good for that, unless you need to haul people. If you gut the interior of a GW (with the exceptions of seats) and rhino-line it, that would make a great FS road truck! And your tools would be locked up inside!

You didn't happen to be down in Tacoma a few weeks back on the side of the road of Steele Street? I saw a white GW (late 80's w/hood ornament) in MINT condition there and flipped my car around to see if the guy needed help, but he took off before I got back there.

Everytime I introduce myself to other FSJ guys they usually look at me funny and say they don't know what a FSJ is and they hate their old Cherokee and can't wait to trade it in for a Toyota Prius. I still have yet to meet another FSJ nut in person.

How you guys doing? I am new to the FSJ thing had a 73 CJ5 and got rid of that awhile ago wanted something I could build up again and carry people around in.

So I picked up a 77 Cherokee sport for dirt cheap with only 52k miles on it and I am ready to make it an awesome machine.

I am in yelm and hopefully I will get her up and going on the road this weekend. Hope to here from some fellow jeepsters and get together.

I would love to meet up sometime but right now I'm working on bringing her back to life... Just tonight I pulled all the interior and dropped the nasty headliner took out the driverside floor pan and got about halfway before I had to stop.. Last night I replaced the carb and last weekend the heater core... So I am busting it out trying to get her up and running.

Still need tags and powersteering bracket, replace the heater switches, hurculiner the entire thing, put new brackets for the seatsince the other ones are rusted through. If you have a bracket for P.S. Or seats let me know... We should get a big event for the Washington FSJ owners. Well talk to you later.

Hey Steve, welcome to the obsession!!!
If you ever need any help, let me know. I'm out in Buckley but my two best friends (also offroad enthusiasts, one a wrangler guy and the other a toyota guy) live in Yelm and Roy, and I find myself out that way all the time.
If you need parts, you need to call or email Heath (lives in Roy) 253-350-2584 boneshdm@aol.com. He buys wrecked FSJ's, takes the axles for the CJ and Wrangler guys, and parts out the rest.
There have been a few of us asking about a Meet & Greet and trail run/camp out sometime, but nobody's stepped up to organize it. TooRisky did a sweet run last year above Greenwater, but I missed out cause my Wagoneer wasn't ready.
If no one steps up to organize a trail run, I might have to. And I don't really want to. lol, I just wanna go.
Would be sweet to take over the Elbe Hills with a bunch of FJS's!!!! Confuse the heck out of all those little jeepers. :omfg:

From Kettle Falls here. Work in Colville. Just picked me up a '91 Grand Wagoneer last month with a reported under 65k one owner miles. Could very well be, as is pretty clean. Funny, everything worked when I bought, now rear defrost and wiper don't work (probably wiring...my guess). She's a white woody FE. Just saw a dark wagoneer yesterday (black?), we smiled and waved at one another. Just not many of these old rigs left. I'm just a little frustrated because not even a month after I buy it, gas prices have gone up over 30 cents a gallon  . My congressman better watch out for her job!

Yeah tried Heath he is completely out of wagoneers but I'm sure I can find something, I'll have to post pictures of the new floor pans once they are done got the drivers side about 80% done and looking good. I can't wait to get her on the road but definetly we need to get a big group of FSJ's together. But before I go play I have to lift her and get some meaty tires so many plans with limited funds equals slow build time lol well talk with you guys later

No kidding? Heath's wife must have made him clean up the yard. Heck, I was there only 6 months ago when I got that power steering pump. That stuff went quick!

I'm in the same boat, stock suspension and tires on my waggy. Lift kit and tires are in the plans, but not any time soon. I just broke my wagoneer tonight actually. Rookie mistake, hooked up battery cables backwards and fried something. I feel retarded now.

Totally need to hook up and get a FSJ group started here locally.

Ya, about that..... it did have a Mercedes emblem.
The PO took it off as it was his Dads truck and it was sentimental to him.
All the better, except for the hole it left. Here's what I'm puting in its place to hide the hole.

Thanks guys. So far I'm in love with this thing. And the PO did a few funky thinks to her (emblems, wiring etc), but mechanically he did some good stuff. He added a 4bbl carb, swapped out the axles for mid 80"s Cheby 1/2 ton with disks, and added power brakes. With only 78k miles on her and 55k on a new Buick 350 crate motor, I can't really complain.

I just need to get the charging system fixed and brakes bled.:drivin:

Not since I've lived here, but I have managed to hunt down two of the other local members face to face in the last year. Tripwire and I have gotten together twice and nw_upstart and I have gotten together twice. I intend to have Tripwire and his wife over again when he gets back from Alaska.

I'm always down for get togethers, but you know how it is up here in the winter. It's dark when you go to work, it's dark when you get off work so you have to cram everything you wanna do that involves daylight (like meet new people or change your oil and a million other chores) into the tiny window between 9am-4pm on Saturday.

Also everybody is still poor from holiday spending, but that being said, I could probably swing a couple take n' bake pizzas and some wings if everybody wanted to BYOB.

I'm pretty sure I have the easiest place to find. Go to the everett mall, park behind Michaels and walk through the gate in the fence, it's that easy.

What saturday works best for everybody?

Give me a few to get mine roadworthy (the trip home from Monroe was scary to say the least) and I say just a meet in the local Denny's parking lot and then go inside for a Coffee or whatever. Does'nt have to be formal, or require anyone to clean up the mess afterward.

I used to be part of a british mini club in Seattle and once every other month we would meet at someones house just to wrench and jaw jack.

I'm gone every other week for work, so my schedule is a bit screwed up. But we should find a way to meet each other.

I'm from Sultan, WA and have a '67 M715 and '72 J4000, both in "project mode". The J4000 at least runs, but the PO drove it from Monroe to here and I haven't taken it any further than up the road and back. Lot of rust on it; so much so that the cab is pretty much toast and may need to be replaced.

Greetings from Republic! I just signed up again after an absence of several years while my two dead Grand Wags have collected dust.
When I lived in Portland (8 years ago) I was active here as RoofPrints. Then I moved north to the wilds of Washington, had an electrical fire, and moved on to other vehicles. Now, after those other vehicles systematically betraying me too, I've come full circle. I'm currently swapping the good drivetrain from my '87 GW that had the fire into my '89 GW that had a bad engine but good wiring. Definitely time to become active here again!
I currently have everything except the axles ripped out from under the '89, and am in the process of putting new parts on the good engine and removing grease and dry chemical. After I do a minor body lift I'll drop in the drivetrain and start putting it back together. Time, money, and weather definitely slow me down, but I hope to have it on the road sometime this spring. I'll post pictures sometime soon.
Jim

Was looking through this thread and I guess I never posted here thought I did. I am outside of Springdale in Stevens County, along with my herd.

That's quite a herd! Nice to see someone here from a county that at least borders mine. Lots of FSJs around Republic, but nobody interested in the forum. :(

I'm just down the road in Sultan. I have to say I haven't seen any other FSJs rolling around here yet.

Excellent. Would be nice to see a Jtruck on the road. Mine is a donor for my YJ and my M715 because it was too rusted to do anything else with. I've seen a lot of ads on craigslist for Jtrucks that I wish I could buy, but my wife says I'm at my limit now and need to finish a project.

Sigh. ;) :banghead: :fsj:

I too am in Marysville and just picked up an 1983 Cherokee Pioneer with a rebuilt AMC 360 and a blown TF 727.

After a nearly 30 year Jeepless stint I have recently caught the Jeep bug again. Local shop overhauled the TF 727 for me.

Now I am installing radio, and fixing the little things that irritate me like a leaking gas tank if I fill it more than 3/4 full.

The PO put Woody GW doors and tail gate on it, and the tail gate window does not work because the switches are shot.

Marysville eh? Then you should get together with REDONE and I sometime. I'm just up the hill in Sisco Heights and he's down in Everett.

Hey that sounds good. I am still getting familiar with my old Jeep and attempting to fix the small irritating problems.

I got my dash lights fixed, and the radio install is coming along.

Very nice! nw_upstart and I can get a little rowdy but nobodies died yet. Let us know when you're ready and we'll drink some cider and talk about how awesome our Jeeps are, and how awesome they're gonna be. ;)

Gosh it's nice to be home again!! I'm on Camano Isl for the next two days, headed over to Forks for the weekend, and then I'll be bouncing around between Arlington, Everett, Edmonds, and Camano until next Monday!

Nope. I wish I could get some fishing in, but I'm slammed for time. We're home for a memorial and trying to see as much fam as we can.

I did see a big J-truck with a black and white hood and a razor grill sitting beside a shop along the 20. I think I was passing through Port Angeles?

@Nw Upstart, was nice to meet you the other day. Nice rig too.

Fishing should be just opening around here at a lot of the lakes. I am looking forward to taking my Chero over the pass to the Pot Holes and going after some small mouth and perch.

I took my class C RV off roading around the Pot Holes many years ago and the wife was not very happy with me. She was afraid it would get stuck.

My Chero actually gets better fuel economy than my class C RV so I'll be taking it to the Pot Holes and sleeping in the back rather than the RV.

i used to duck hunt over that way as a kid.
***********

Saw a bunch of wagoneers today. Green one in Kingston, Saw a yellow one with thin wood trim in Edmonds by the ferry, and a Rusted red one in Everett on Pacific Ave.

Redone- I was in your neighborhood today, I'm sorry I didn't have your number with me. I dropped off the wife and kids in Edmonds and had to run an errand over on Colby and Everett Ave. I even drove by the Red Robin on Everett Mall way. Would have been a perfect opportunity...

dang it!

Hey all! I just caught the sickness last weekend when I drove a 66 Gladiator home from Portland. I'm on Vashon where there quite a few jeeps but it's mostly the little ones. I'm hoping mine will be a head turner! The PO used this site during his build which is how I found it. It will keep me going on his start for a long time, I think.

Did you buy Sparklighters Glad?

That is a sweet truck.

I was wondering if anyone would make the connection. He had a popular build thread.

I was lucky enough to become owner number three! I'm hoping to keep the progress. I'll be asking questions for sure. I can turn the bolts but I often need someone to tell me which ones.

Hello all. Great to see there are some FSJ people in the great North West. I just moved here from sunny Arizona about a month ago. Used to do alot of wheeling in the desert - rock crawlin and camping in the wilderness. I am looking forward to sampling some of the terrain up here. I'm located in Federal Way.

I have a 76 Cherokee I originally bought for its axles to fit under the CJ that my son wrecked. The cherokee was originally equipped with the straight 6 and 3 spd manual tranny (T15?) The engine in the cherokee was DOA so I decided to revive the cherokee instead of re-building the CJ. Now the Cherokee has a 304V8, T18A tranny, Dana 20 transfer with twin stick. the interesting thing is I used the CJ bell housing so, getting the stick shift to fit was fun to install. The motor has an edelbrock performer series intake with a modified Q-jet 4 bbl carb. tires are 33x12.5 on 15 steelies. 3 inch body lift with flipped shackles totaling to 6" lift. Lock right locker in the rear, Dana 44's front and back 4.09 ratio. Oh yeah, and the paint is scratched:thumbsup:

I'll post a pic as soon as I can figure out how to reduce the file size.

Hey, I picked up a J-4000 with a Buick 350 in it just before christmas. Finally got some time to work on it so I though I'd introduce myself. I'm in the Spokane area, originally from California.
