When I tried to start the truck this morning as soon as I turned on the key, I knew something was up. The heater blower motor was making a strange noise. No problem just turned it off. OK, next I start the truck and it starts ok, just the way it normally does at -8 degrees and a wind chill of -26. The oil pressure comes up fine so I set my stick throttle, and head back in the garage. All of a sudden the motor starts running a little faster. I think about just going on in and let it warm. However I go back to lower the RPM's a little. Thats when I see the oil dripping from my aftermarket oil pressure gauge, and zero pressure. So I shut it down, and will drive the wife to work and steal her ZJ so I can get parts. I'm hoping its just the OPG, and not anything really serious.

I'll let you all know how it goes today.

Hopefully just a broken guage or just leaking at the connection.

Do you have copper or plastic line going to the gauge? If plastic, I would suspect it cracked from the cold. It got to -7F here in Valpo last night also! Doggone key would barely turn.

UPDATE: Yes I was running a plastic line, and due to the cold and a little age it broke at the back of the gauge. It even broke again when I grabbed it to check it out. Its very brittle. Went to autozone and got a new gauge, and COPPER line for 25 bucks and am in the process of installing it now. Have my double propane warming the garage now and will post later when the job is done, and everything is working right.
Thanks for the help.

this is why i always use coppor line.got used to it when my monte that would hold 85 pounds on cold startup kept poping the plastic line, and since on the 360 you need to go around the ex manifold the coppor is safer

in the negative teens.

Those dam MFGs. just want you to "SHO ME THE MONEY" it seems most if not all the OIL psi gauges come with that high tech plastic.

Well I got it fixed now. Funny thing is when I was at the zone for the new gauge, (which had the plastic line), I asked for copper line and the guy told me he had not seen any copper line in a long time. I guess they were putting stock out cause the aisles were full with parts etc. So I go to the back of the store to get an extra jug of anti-freeze. All of a sudden this guy is by my side and shows me a pack of copper line that he had just unboxed. And it was the only one that came in that shipment. So I thanked the jeep gods and bought it.

All lines are attached now and no leaks, and its topped of with anti-freeze so maybe I can make it another week or so before something else goes bad.

Thanks guys.
