My '89 is stock except for the TFI. I'm thinking of bringing it up with a SOA. I know better than to attempt it myself. What is involved in doing the conversion and what would it cost to have someone do it?

I think the trick is to find someone knowledgable to do it reasonable. My little brother took a 72 wag to a small town 30 year experienced mech who was an old time four wheeler, who did a nice SOA for 219 bucks. This did not include shocks or a dropped pitman arm, both added later. My bro said he had a heck of a ride about 90 miles home with no shocks!! It had 4inch blocks on the back with a 3/4 ton chev leaf for "a little extra". My brother found a local KC area 4x4 counter guy with a book, to get shocks matching his measurements that did not limit the trucks droop, and he added the pittman arm to get rid of bump steer. End rresult was a very flexy (over 18 inches up front travel) suspension. I wheeled with him in this truck many times, and it was impressive, very capable, and nice road manners. He ran 33 inch thornbirds on 10 inch rims with some back ww cutting. Maybe som one close to you can give you a good mech recomedation.

Thanx PPig. For $219 bucks that would be a steal. Unfortunately, PA is a long way from your neck of the woods.
