I just got a new MSD Blaster 2 coil from a friend and i'd like to put it in today. Changing out a coil is a simple un-plug the old and plug in the new right? Also, will i notice any difference in perfomance by changing out the OLD stock coil?

Yea, pretty much that simple.
Try not to stress the high volt wire &
Make sure you get the plus/minus wires right.
Plus wire comes from the ignition switch, minus wire comes from the distributor (thats the signal).

My bet is, not much unless the old one was starting to go. Thats because I don't think the Blaster 2 (and I run one on my Plymouth) is really much different than a stock one. Same basic design. So, unless you change the dwell, the time to build up and release the charge is about the same.
If you want to change your dwell, post back, and I'll dig up that ol' trick. Of course there is a cost (I think in this case is you burn up the points faster) few hot rod tricks are scott free http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Well I'm finished. With it started up I was very happy to see a smoother idle. However I didn't notice anything else when I took her for a spin. I guess its a success http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif I'd like to upgrade to the MSD 6 off-road ignition someday.
