View Full Version : 360 in a '67 Gladiator
Can a 360 out of a '78 Chero be installed in a '67 Gladiator to replace the 258. It has the 3spd tranny and the '78 Chero has the auto tranny.
What's needed in order to do it?.
Thanks.

Need to swap the radiator support or widen it for the V8 radiator.
Need to cut out some V8 motor mounts and bolt-n-weld 'em in.
Need the V8 radiator.
If that truely is a 258 in the Kaiser not a 230/232 then the bellhousing will bolt to the 360 and you would need to pull the auto tranny bushing out of the crank, install a pilot bushing and use a 360 flywheel. Don't forget to separate the o-ring spacer on the end of the crank that was for the torque converter.
Some of your wiring will be needing changing for the different reach to things.

get the front valence of a 70's or younger with the 360, the 360 radiator mount is moved even forward, beside the inlet oulet being reversed.... about 1.5 inch forward into the valence, so you can use the mechanical fan.... don't try electrical fan,.... (someone i know is there... waiting for weather to warm up for next step)
cheers
