Dumpy

Got my truck back from Jake (Tanker) this past weekend and man! What a difference! It actually cranks easily, has compression, and acts like it actually wants to be driven! Jake delivered it to me in Weaverville, NC, a little over an hour from home. The difference was amazing!
It was so nice to drive home and not get high on the exhaust fumes! He used a block with about 30,000 miles on it, new bearings and timing set. The old engine was so warn out, you could see the piston rings while the pistons were still in the block! The only real mishap was on the way home when the dumb plastic oil pressure line (this was supposed to be just until I got a brass line) vibrated down onto the block, so of course oil got all over the new, clean engine. A quick stop at the Zone and I had a brass line installed in about 10 minutes. Then, my voltage regulator decided it was time to give up the ghost, and I caught that just in time and thank God my battery didn't explode. So today the new regulator and alternator went on. I'll give it a try in the morning and see how that does.
So now, pretty much everything under the hood is new:
Engine
Water pump
Oil pump
Fuel pump
HEI distributor
Alternator
Voltage regulator
Steering shaft bearing
Plugs and wires
Intake
Exhaust and muffler
Trans cover plate
Steering stabilizer (to be installed soon)
A HUGE Thanks to Jake and Jackie for letting me stay with them, feeding me, and teaching me more than I have ever known about engines! If you ever et a chance to get up there to Burnsville, NC, it' worth the trip!:drivin:
They will go WAY out of their way to help you.
