Okay, so last night I took the GW to the drive-thru car wash. I shut the truck off to wait for the car ahead of me to get its wash. The truck rolled forward a foot or two in Park before I got the parking brake on.

Then, I go to restart it (my turn to drive-thru), and NOTHING! No dash lights, no radio, no power to anything! Battery is fine, no obvious shorts under the hood.

So, could this be related to rolling forward in Park? Like the nuetral safety switch or something? Or is that part just a coincidence?

Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley? I'm baffled. Neither the Haynes nor the TSM say much about this kind of problem. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

sounds like a fusable link popped. check the yellow wire on the right fenderwell for continuity

what the nuetral safety switch is it just to prevent for u to started on gear what u might have will be a blown fuse or something like that if u have a test light check for current on the wire coming out from the selenoid and try to trace it all the way to the firewall and under ur steering column u should have power on it if not check ur batt terminals

The same thing happened to my Chero. It turned out to be corrosion on the wires going to and from the solonoid. Try cleaning all the wires and see if that helps.

Thanks for the input, guys.

In the spirit of Keep it Simple, Stupid, I cleaned the battery terminals and cable ends, as well as the chassis ground. And...viola, she fired right up! Which makes Mark the big winner.

Gotta love the easy ones...(knocking on all available wood!).

Thanks again.
