I am replacing my rear quarter and can you remove the fender flare or is it there for good. All of the replacements are for the narrow track. Thanks for the help!!

Yes, it's connected. you have to cut the fender flare off to remove the quarter panel. I found this out when I chopped mine off with intentions of replacing it.

i believe they are removable but the problem is the rust on the bolts or latches that hold them on,so if you remove them you may not be able to get them back on,not sure on this though,i will be doing this myself soon so let me know how it works out.

Hi Rob,
You can do anything if you want to! I just looked at my "77 Chero WT. The flare is spotwelded to the inner wheelhouse around the outer lip. You will need a spotweld drill- ask your local autobody supply shop for a "Blair cutter" and they should know what you are talking about. Drill out the spotwelds and remove the flare with the quarter panel. Once off, you will be able to access the spotwelds holding the flare to the 1/4. You can use the removed flare to mark the replacement panel for cutting, but remember to leave 1/2 to 3/4 inch extra to fold under to give you a lip to weld the flare to. Test fit the panel and flare to the vehicle using just enough rivets to hold them in position. Remove the panel, weld the flare (using weld-thru primer on the bare metal) then install 1/4 to vehicle. Use flexible seam sealer (comes in toothpaste style tube) on the outer flare to 1/4 gap, and rustproof the inner after covering the joints with brushable seam sealer (comes in quarts, apply with acid brush). Bondo up the big screw-ups, prime, sand, and paint. Nothing to it! :D
