Does anyone know of an aftermarket or other rear bumper that will bolt onto a 1974 J20? I am trying to avoid straightening my stock bumper and if I can take one off of another full size pickup it will save me some work..thanks

Previously someone on this board recommended a rear bumper from a mid-1980's Dodge pickup as being a pretty good fit. I haven't confirmed this. If you want a tubular bumper, visit the Sterling Equipment (http://members.aol.com/SterlingEq/) page and let me know if you like what you see. I can get you a discount.

I just ordered a tube type bumper form Sterling in FL for my J20. Looks real nice and it can be customized with a trailer hitch if you like. They can also make a straight or wraparound style.

Contact Wade Rogers at Sterlingeq@aol.com. There webite is: www.sterling-equipment.com, (http://www.sterling-equipment.com,) nice pics there.

Hey 74J20,
I believe who ralph is refering to would be myself??? I used A diamondplate rear step bumper from a mid 80's dodge fulsize pickup it was only wider by like maybe 2"(not real sure its been a few months). Just needed to make new brackets and trim the diamondplate lip off the bumper so it would clear that lil piece below the tailgate that sticks out in the middle. Other than that it fits real good.....doesn't stick out to far, and actually doesn't look aftermarket. Craig
