skid plate painting [Archive] - International Full Size Jeep Association

this is a little jeep question? what would you suggest painting my skid plates with on my wrangler to stop them from rusting through? right know they just have surface rust. and does any one know if the gas tank skid plate can be taken off without the tank falling down?

I would clean the skid plate and use por15.

Never heard of this por15 stuff but I know a few people who have used something called hammerite or hammertough. Something like that name, it's rustproof and you can hit it with a hammer and it won't chip off. It's real tough stuff.
