Has anyone used these and how do you like them? I am going SOA and Shackle flip and was planning on using the heavy duty shackle in the front and rear 1/2" in front and the 1" in the rear. What do you think?

Thanks

I used the 1" in the front and they are extremely sturdy. Mine are new, and even look new. Maybe I won't get in trouble for this but if you'd like I could cut you a deal for them since I had to remove them after I did SOA on top of my 6" lift.

I have been beating on a set of 1" lift shackles for over 3 years. It did change the steering a little on the highway, but easy enough to get used to.

I think you should do the SOA and see how you like it with stock shackles first.

They worked awesome for me... I did the standard SF/SOA but I also inboarded my rear springs to under the frame. I figured this would make it sturdier as well as improve flex (more leverage against the spring since it is farther from the wheel as well as more travel for a given amount of spring flex). Unfortunately this caused a large rake as the inboard gives you more lift in the back... I put on BJs 1.5in shackles (I thinkt hey are 3in longer so 1.5in of lift). They are super sturdy looking and did not adversely effect drivability.

When I do the shacke flip I am going to use 60" dodge Ram 1500 4x4 springs to move the axle to the rear 1 7/8" as I see most rear tire rubbing is on the rocker plus I will be able to install flares and miss the door a little easier.

That said I may need the longer shackes on the front only as the dodge springs may add lift.

Any more thoughts?

Thanks

Nope, sounds like you have a plan.
Looking forward to seeing your build.

Tad, I'd love to do a build thread but there seems to be a limit on uploaded pics. Do I need to find a file host?

Here is an example I did for a jet aircraft I built:

Yep, being a free board we do not provide hosting for other than small attachments, bandwidth and space are always issues here.
Try using a Photobucket account, it's free up to X amount of bandwidth.
That's what most of us use, but there are many others.
IIRC there is a link in Gen Disc about who does what and what works best here.
