.040 over Jasper 360 reman. Comes with good used cleaned timing cover and a bunch of other parts. Enough AMC blue rattle cans to do the motor.

Never ran, never been in a car. Comes with a gasket kit with everything to finish the motor (sans head gaskets as the guy I'm buying it from is keeping the heads that where put on it).

Snagged it for $200.

Going to be a winter project for the Wagoneer.

What does .040 over on a 360 make it?

makes it use more gas I reckon...

Lol.
Probably with my luck, it will eat gas like a 401 and have the power of my lawn mower:rolleyes:

Nice score, great price!

A .030 360 is 6.0L so a .040 over should be 6.1L.

Or

360 .030 over is 365 and .040 over is a 367.

idk, i have a lawnmower with a 4 speed that will climb a wall and do 60mph. :D

Yeah, my 16 HP Seats ST16 is actually pretty fast.

When it's running anyway.

Which isn't now, or most of the time. It's actually less reliable then the Jeeps!

That sounds really good. Is the Wag your DD now?

Yeah, I haven't been driving the 71 so much lately.

Going to take it out all next week though.

It's easier to keep filling the Waggy with 87 instead of the 93 the 71 likes.

Have a Jasper Reman (long block) in Dino...it's been a good motor for 45K miles...

That's good to hear. I've alwayts heard mixed results about Jasper motors.

It is true that a "remanufuactured" motor is better then a rebuilt.

Jaspers site makes it sound like it.

I just hope it's a 360 cast block, and not a 5.9L.

If it's 5.9L it's going to be for sale. I reject the metric system.

Less fun with the metric system : it's too simple and it doesn't fit to american cars :D :D

The volume increases with the square of the radius. The bore of the 360 is 4.08", and the 60-over bore is 4.14". The radius is half of the bore. So, (2.07^2)/2.04^2)*360 = 370.7, or roughly a 371. I expect the most noticable effect will be the increase in compression due to the change in displacement with the same combustion chamber volume. The factory compression ratio is 8.5:1, so (2.07^2)/2.04^2)*8.5 = 8.75:1.

I thought all amc V8 blocks were the same. not long or short. is it becasue its a remanufactured block that it is long or short?

A short block is just a block and all the internal parts. No heads, intake etc.

Basically the most expensive part of a rebuild.

This is getting better.

The guy I'm going to buy the axle from said he really would rather trade for a rear end for his hot rod.

I just talked to a buddy and he will sell me a 69 Camero 10b for $100. It has the perfect WMS that this guy is looking for.

So I may end up with it for $100.

Hot Rodder's math

Bore x Bore x Stroke x .7854 x Number of cylinders
4.12 x 4.12 x 3.44 x .7854 x 8 = 366.88 cu. in.

Works every time!

Yes, 40 over, not 60. :o

Just to update, the guys "buddy" that was "helping him" sell stuff sold it out from under me while the guy was "sick", even though he has been told the motor was sold.

So I'm sure someone came up and offered him another hundred more the we agreed on for it.

You may have gotten off lucky! It could've had BADger miscast pistons in it. They tend to implode with the slightest detonation (ping) and blow chunks all over the place!

Is that something Jasper has been known for?
