Just $29,950.

1988 Jeep Durangoneer. Take a 5.7 Liter Hemi and balance of the heart and sole of a Dodge Durango and match it up with the classic style of a Jeep Wagoneer and you get this awesome show vehicle built by Popular Mechanics magazine for the SEMA Auto Show. PM started with a rust free Wagoneer and mated the body to the Durango chassis and driveline, added the custom leather interior, gauges, and Red with white graphics paint scheme an awesome set of wheels and tires and created a one-off Jeep Durangoneer. Included with this unique vehicle are the articles by Popular Mechanics detailing the entire process. You couldn't get half way home trying to build this one of a kind ride today for our sale price of only $29950

Why does that paint scheme say International Scout to me?

I kinda like it, think they'll go $25,995?

I like it but it needs more lift, some trimming (done well enough to match the rest of the vehicle and with a nice set of flares) and some 33s... It would be awesome :D

Kind of looks like they put in the crappy durango ifs? Hard to tell... Also that would make no sense since it would be a difficult swap...

No suspension was swapped.

Imo the paint, wheels and interior are wack. It seems they were trying to get away from the original look as much as possible.

AND, IMHO, it woulda popped way more with a wide track style body, all fenderflary an whatnot...That Narrowtrack just looks so.... NORMAL...

It's not exactly how I would have built it... but it is well worth $25,000 in my humble opinion.

I don't think it could be registered in California :D

That's an excellent price! Wow! I wonder if they'd repaint it, however. Not my style.

Heck, if it showed up in my driveway, the Subaru would get sold in a heartbeat and I would drive the wee out of it. You know a bunch of ya would...

Wood grain would go right over the white paint too...

That's what I was thinking except for under the back turn signals.

HATE the interior, though.

While nice, and yes if the keys showed up at my front door I would drive it like I stole it, but I would miss all the oil leaks, and noises that I can't figure out where they're coming from.

Actually, I bet it could.. just as a Durango, not a Wagoneer. New parts in an old car seems to be looked at as a good thing.

for what it's worth, I like it. Interior too. lol

I'll be doing something similar with Levi, but with the old-school dash instead of the new one. I wonder if they could do it with the new Durango.. and the 6.4L Hemi with MDS.. :D

Not saying I wouldn't drive it if someone gave me the keys, but I would rather have the 14,500 dollar rig listed on Oklahoma City's craigslist with the GM power plant.

Not my cup of tea...

Now if it was a Jeep Bronconeer (351/E4oD), I would drive the snot out of that!
