Funny, I was just looking at this thinking that 5.9L Diesel must be a Cummings.....

That looks like the Multi-fuel engine they used in the 2 1/2 t trucks. If it is, I dont think it will shoehorn in...

To OP: No such thing as overkill. If there was, we'd never have gotten past the horse 'n buggy stage. :) Try it if you want to! Start collecting parts!
Cummins. No "g" at the end.

Agreed
Very large, heavy, low on HP...best in a military 2 1/2 ton truck.
Cummins 6BT would be a better swap if you looking at something that large
Serious heavy motor, if you could pull off the swap, it'd be a grunting puller. Had a friend stuff a 6-71 Det into a 64 Ford 2wd 1 ton flatbed. Slow through the gears to get up to speed but it'd pull the state off the map. He used it for moving steel commercial boats around

The big one is.
However, page through all the photos and decipher the govliquidation gibberish, and this auction was for a 'lot' of 2 engines. One of which is a 6.2 hmmwv takeout, and the other (most of the pictures) is a continental/hercules multifuel LDS465 (???) unit.
