Yesterday I picked up another Motorcraft 2150 for my 360 engine swap. The engine is a 1979 and has the original carb I believe. I decided, since it was cheap at the junk yard, that I would take home another carb for the heck of it. The one I grabbed was from a 1986 wagoneer. Putting the two carbs side by side I noticed the 1986 has a few extra ports here and there. The thought came to me that when it comes right down to it, I have no idea what ANY of the ports are and what they are for. I was really hoping someone on this formum would have a good source of information on these carbs...diagrams of the ports/lines? I am assuming that the extra ports on the 1986 carb are for pollution stuff...but I really have no idea. I'd really like to find a good article WITH PICTURES also. I found the article on rebuilding by Michael Baxter, but there aren't any pictures. Things are much easier to understand with pictures. I'd appreciate any help you guys can lend....I'd really like to completely understand my carb and what everything on it and where all of the ports go to........or else I'll never be able to hook it all back up again. Thanks.

Most of them "extra" ones are smog related. The only ports I ever use is ported vacuum for the distributer, and the port in back if you have power brakes.

Oh and the float bowl vent port to go into the charcoal container.

But what ports are what? Which ones are ported vacuum for the distributor?? Which port on back? Are there any diagrams or pictures that will clearify...and clearify between the two carbs I have??
