A friend of my son found this ad in a copy of 'Connoisseur' magazine - no date but it looks like an '84(?)... Sorry if it's a re-post from elsewhere on the site...

Boy I don't miss those 70's and 80's athletic shorts. Cool ad though.

Nice. I would say 85 because of the shift on the fly feature. 83 & 84 you had to stop to shift to 4wd because of the vac disco on front axle. The new suspension probably refers to the track bar being added front and back. "new" LOL!

Apparently somewhere in the 80's the whitewall width changed. I was watching What About Bob (one of my favorites for obvious reasons) over the weekend and noticed the white stripes were as wide as the ones shown in the ad. Later models, like mine, seem tiny in comparison.
