Wiring Mess

Alright, when I bought my Grand Wagoneer, there were many loose wires dangling allover the place on the passenger side of the engine coming out from a wiring harness. What are all those wires for? Alot of them arent connected to anything, and it runs. Could someone give me a list of what wires I should just tape off, and which wires I need to keep? It would be much appreciated.

John what might be better if you get a Haynes manual.It has the wiring diagrams with the color codes in it.Will make it easier for you and if still needed,for us to help you.

You might want to be a bit more specific or if you had a picture might help. Other than that have you tried looking at a wiring diagram to see i you could figure them out. I know someone on here has some wirin diagrams in their sig, cant remember right of the top of my head who though.

Or check at you local salvage yard and see if they will let you look under the hood of one, if they have one that hasnt been nit picked to death.
Or even a car lot, if you find one on a local car lot, take it for a test drive and see if you can match the wires up that way or take a picture of under the hood and match it with yours. Sorry wish I could have helped more

Dont worry about it. A list of wires from you guys would have been alot easier though. :D I guess Ill just post multiple posts. "Whats the green wire do?", "Whats the, ouch!, red wire do?" LOL J/K! tongue.gif
