i replaced the clutch fork and throw out bearing in my 79 j10. when i push the clucth pedal to the floor the clutch does not release so i cannot put the truck into gear while it is running. i have adjusted the clutch so there is no play at all and it is so tight that i cannot adjust it any more but nothing has helped and i need input as to what it could be.

You have both the pedal and fork adjustment out as far as they'll go? You need to be able to push the fork in farther. Are you sure the new fork is the same length as the old one?

I'll bet you dropped the pivot ball off of the fork pivot. J20

Are you positive you put the Clutch Disk: THIS SIDE TO FLYWHEEL?

1. Lift the clutch pedal against the stop.
2. Adjust the push rod (the vertical rod) so the bellcrank inner lever is slightly forward from vertical.
3. Adjust the fork adjuster (the horizontal one on the fork) to get 1/2 inch freeplay at pedal.

when i replaced the clutch fork i had to replace the ball because it was missing. also the clutch rod is as tight as possible and there is no play in the pedal at all. should i repair the old clutch fork and put it in, because the new clutch fork has the rod at an angle, and it came from auto zone.
