Welcome to the forum!

There are all sorts of mods for the 360. 360's are good because parts are relatively easy to find, and aren't priced more than most chebby parts (with exception to intake manifolds, but that's because AMCs use a valley pan).
There are some more necessary mods (my 2 pennies) that should get done. one is the oiling kit modification. You can get that at the local NAPA for $20, and will keep those rear bearings lubed.
Are you planning on replacing your old crank with a new stock crank?

Thanks for the help and I plan on putting a new crank in.And do you know of any up-graded heads that go on a 360. Thanks!!

That's a link to a really good engine forum for AMC engines. Lots of dragracers over there who really know their stuff, and a great bunch of old threads in archives. Also try
http://froadin.com/

That's a Jeep oriented board, with lots of hop-up and oil mod info in the archives.

Don't forget to look at the engines tech section here on this great board first!

360 heads pretty much don't need upgrading, they are some of the best stock heads out there. That said, if you are a serious horsepower junkie, there are 2 versions of aluminum heads available, which really are best left to the racers.
