can you supercharge or turbocharge a 360 if so who makes them???

I think Vortec makes a centrifugal supercharger for carbureted small block Chevys, with a little fab work the brackets could probably be made to work. Other than that I don't know, I've always wondered that myself.

Kewl, I wonder about the cost to gain ratio do you have a place to go and check specs and prices??

Hampton blowers probably has a setup for an AMC. I saw a twin turbo 401 in a CJ once, they fabricated most of the parts themselves.

there is some info in the engines section but I haven't found anything specific on the 360 yet...

There is a Junkyard Turbo page on a yahoo.groups area. I do not have the page but search for it and it comes up...
They have a whole bunch of people whe fabricate their turbo systems out of junkyard pieces..you would be amazed at what you can find and at the price at a u-pull.

I found a website that has some info on amc's with turbos. Not much info but you can e-mail the people featured on the site.

I saw a FSJ turbo setup on e bay once, so they are out there. But why, it will only cause premature premature AMC engine failure.

so will 90% of the other performance mods out there...I just like the idea...

A supercharger IMHO is he better choice because of the instant power, even considering the parasitic loss from being driven off the crank,to waiting for a turbo to spool up.Turbos work well with high compression diesels because of the higher exhaust gas flow/temps.

i would go with the supercharger too.

I would prefer supercharging over turbo. Keep in mind that you want reasonably low compression or you will kill your motor. I don't know what the compression ratio should be on water cooled engines but a little research will clear that up.

Unless you want the powerall the time, go with nitros.
Real cheep, easier on the engine, as long as you stay below a 200 HP shot, and real easy.
For the time and money to reward ratio it isn't even close.
Plus the jeep is still pretty much stock so you eliminate a lot of the tuning problems you'll run into with a super charger.

YES!!! bolt a GMC 6-71 blower right to the top of your AMC! Top it off with a couple 4 barrels or maybe an injection system! Win trophys at the mud bogs or in tuff truck!!! The trick is finding a blower intake for the amc engine. That I would have no idea where to find. If you can get one somewhere, then score everything else you need off of ebay or at a swapmeet.
Keep in mind your engine needs to have about 8:1 compression and forged pistons are a GOOD idea.
