have a 1975 chief cherokee with 401 engine
msd ignition. my distributor fell apart internally. so i bought a new one. this time a msd distributor.i have different wire connection now.i dont use the white wire anymore instead i use the green and violet direct to the distributor as msd required.
truck wont start. i was checking for spark acording to msd. if i ground out the white wire i have a spark. if i ground out green and violet i doknt have anything. so is my box bad?

Just had to go out and look...
It sounds like you have it wired correctly.
The white wire is no longer used.
Grounding (or shorting) the green/violet wires will not tell you if it is working or not, these wires transmit an inductive pulse.
Check the connections on the factory extension (green/violet) from the box to the distributor.
In fact, check all the connections in the system. Mine stranded me after a few months so I soldered everything, no problems since.

Their tech support is ok, if it still doesnt work give them a call. If you are getting spark with the white wire test, the box should be fine.
