View Full Version : roadtrip timeing/fuel economy help

ok i am finaly going back to the east coast and driving from Ca. to Maryland. what is the beast timeing setting or any other fuel economy (stop laughing) tips to set my J20
360 with the4bl stock motocrap carb,accell coil/wires/cap, petronix ignitor,bosh platinum plugs.
oh ya and i am towing a dual axle trailer with a built cj-5 and all my assorted crap on it.
any advice would be greatly apreciated :D

hey this is a Navy paid for move :D so no gas money comes out of my pocket i just want to try and concerve thier money in case mt J-truck expoldes and wheatever i got left at the end will go tward a set of 40in tires for it smile.gif

Stick a K&N air filter on it, air up the tires to max pressure, change your oil, lube it and check the down-under fluids, crank-up the stereo and move out! Might want to make sure the E-brake is released too! :D

done all that just worried that if something does go i wont hear it on the highway :D (1800watts of sterio) any of you guys have an ignition advancement setting that works better or a carb adjustment? i got everything tuned to baseline ,new oil, oil cooler/increaced capacity,plugs wires, you get the idea
just want to spend more time driving less time at the pump smile.gif

well keep it at 55 to 60 when i do on my wag i get 14+ mpg if i run 70 i get 12+mpg. :(
