I realize that this has been hashed over many times already.

I am looking for a compilation of websites/information concerning the process of stroking an AMC 360. I will be doing a rebuild on my current 360 soona and am interested in Stroking it. At least, until I've read all the available information. It appears that this is an easier way to get torque and some HP without having to spend a fortune.

Please accept my apologies for bringing it up again, but I would really like to see a few websites with the steps and parts recommended and stuff like that.

Thanks in advance...

Pardon my ingorance and that this is not an answer to your question but....

Just what is Stroking an engine? For what type of driving is it benneficial, ie, street, off road, towing?

Just trying to learn it all!

First thing - Beautiful Grand!!! I wish mine was that cherry!

Okay, onto the question. Stroking an engine is basically putting in a larger crank (Example: putting the crankshaft from the 401ci into the AMC 360ci block) and rods to increase the actual displacement of an engine. This is different than boring out the cylinder heads since it doesn't weaken the block like overboring.

Typically, stroking will give you more torque and also more HP, but I am looking to increase performance and torque for offroading.

There are other items that go into stroking an engine, but that is the basics of the concept.

I'll step down now and let the rest of the list give more details...
