Does anyone know if they still make Sandblast in a can(something like that). I can't find it anywhere. If they don't what is the best stuff to remove a REALLY stubborn nut? I need to replace the pinion seals and the pinion nuts will not come off. I've cussed them with a 3 foot breaker bar for long enough and liquid wrench is not doing it. Thanks for the help.

A little heat in the right place does wonders!

heat good - might need impact wrench or longer breaker bar - cussing usually helps also ;)

Heat good, impact good, if you don't have either, go get some pb-blaster and throw away that liquid wrench. They sell it at Wal-Mart and Autozone, works much better than liquid wrench.

Floor jack under the breaker bar, use the weight of the rig to force it to break loose. Make sure you are going the right way (yea, I did that).

For a pinion nut, here's a trick I learned when I had to take the spindle nut off a '69 Toronado and I had no air-tools.

Chock the tires so it won't roll. Then put the socket wrench on the nut, and using a floor-jack under the end of the wrench, jack it up. As long as you can keep the tires from turning, the 2 tons of force from the jack will work against the weight of the truck. Either the jack will blow, the truck will tip over, or the nut will break loose.

Put a propane torch on it for 10 minutes or until the propane runs out and then hit with a socket wrench connected to a 6 ft. cheater pipe or an impact wrench. This is my standard formula for removing any stuck bolt on my Wag. Good Luck!

If you have access to an oxy accetelene torch that's the best. Haven't found a nut that could resist it yet! Heat it up to a nice orange color and it will come off.
