Transm,slow to engage when cold??

I just changed fluid and filter (dextronIII), when engine starts and you wait about 30 sec, pull lever into reverse truck sits like nothing is engaged,and the same for "D",,, but if you wait about 1 minute and RPM about1000 then go for a gear it grabs,, after its totally warm it works fine and shifts hard under acceration.. it worked OK before I changed fluid,,is it just a fluke that someting in the valve body is gummy and "Lube Guard product" might help.. Anybody had this happen? I had other J10s with torque convertor drain-back,but it would work by idling in neutral,in 15 sec., ready to drive.

Mine does the same thing. I've just gotten to where I let it idle for a minute or so in neutral to get the fluid moving.

adjust the bands / get a pressure reading the pressure is adjustable on the 727 with the bands out of adujustment it will do just as you say it is doing
