So does anyone know the deal with the cheap bolts that were used on the later wagoneers? Seems to be cheap pot metal. Every time I try to losen a bolt it cracks even with heating a pb blaster soaking. Anyone else experience this?
Also, does anyone know of a place to buy replica bolts to replace bolts such as the water pump mounting bolts? Thats right 70 percent of them cracked off into the engine block...:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I'm going to bet that a DSPO replaced the water pump at one time and grabbed any old bolt off the hardware shelf without paying attention to the grading. I've dealt with this on my Commando water pump-broke all but 1 bolt. they were all grade 0 and not original.
I've seen bolts used on my FSJs that are not original. All the bolts on our rigs are either grade 5 or 8. You can pick up new bolts at the big box, hardware store, or a ranch supply. Try NAPA too. They have a decent bolt selection.
There's a place locally here that deals with all kinds of hardware and fasteners for industrial machinery and heavy equipment and they can get special bolts with captured washers to match many of your originals.

You heated the bolt itself  I thought you'd want the bolt cool to help it shrink and make it easier to come out of the hole. For sure a DSPO putting the wrong stuff in the hole will do it every time though.
