ok... is there any reason that you shouldnt do a shackle flip in the rear. My Old wagon has them pointing up... instead of down from the hanger....
Was wondering if there is any reason you cant flip them... besides needing longer breaklines, and driveline length....

Ahhh heck.. my avatar is gone.... what happened
Shackle Flip - Nothing wrong with doing that, the rear pinion will point up more, so if you get vibes, you *might* need to shim it, haven't heard of anyone ever needing to though. Brake line can either be replaced with an extended one, or you can bend the hard line down. Check out this post - http://www.ifsja.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=015190
Avatars - Adam (DOME) turned them off since there was a huge argument about them, and people weren't following the rules with them.

Just curious, but what's the last year you could still do the rear shackle flip, without re-engineering everything?
Lindel,
Not sure about JTrucks but am pretty sure you find the rear post mounts up till 1974 and some show up on some 1975's.
Mike,
Can't think of a reason not to do it, didn't need it with the chevy springs I have in back, sat way to high.

On waggies it is through 75. 76 is the first year with box mounts.
