Wiring harness question

I have a '83 Cherokee Chief with 258 auto. It had an engine wiring fire about 15 years ago and the engine compartment wiring harness, among other things, is toast.
Question: Is the wiring harness for a 258 the same as the one for a 360 if the same year(or about the same year) Cherokee...or even a J10? Assume both have ac and no fogs. Interior harness is AOK.

Exactly I'm not sure, but you should be able to search through the technical files on here and find it. If you are close to a salvage yard you can find a 360 harness and check to see if the block harness has the same shape and colored wires. The TSMs would be your best bet in making sure of it. I'm betting that you should be able to find one that'll work and they are relatively easy to pull out. Just label what each wire came off of so re-installing it on your rig will go MUCH smoother and less chance of :banghead:
