View Full Version : Dealing with Team Grand Wagoneer?

OK...I know that some people in the past have had issues with Team Grand Wagoneer, but I tried anyway. I ordered a cable for my heater and 2 sets of 2 51015 alternator belts because there are double pulleys and I'm told they are supposed to be replaced with matched pairs.

So I get my package with the heater cable...OEM fits like it was meant to be. And...2 alternator belts...not 2 sets of 2 but only two. Shipping up here was about $15.00 and the alternators belts are about $15.00 for the pair. I called them and Amanda was really nice an said that she would send out another pair.

Today, I open up the box and get 4 belts (that's two sets of 2) along with a little note and a free keychain for the trouble. I thought that it was a nice gesture until I looked at the belts...

<please see posting pictures sticky>

The original two belts were both 51015. Two of the new belts that arrived today were 51015. The other two belts were 50513 and 58015.

So should I be pissed? I ended up with 2 sets of two...matched??? not really... for a good price ...plus a keychain.

Good try but there's something not right out there.

GREG ... in the end did you get the total amount of belts necessary to do what you needed? Did they charge you more or send them to make up for the screw up? IF you got what you need and it didnt cost you anything but time then I'd call it good. I would call them so they are aware that somebody isnt on the stick like they should be. From the sopund of it they made good so its only right to let them know you have extra stuf you werent charged for. Most often whoever picked and packed the order is trackable and if its the same person then they have found the issue, and if not then they know the shipping department needs some brushing up. However, if you got overcharged then a calm phone call to Amanda to update her of the further screw up in shipping. Considering how she took care of it before then she will most likely be inclined to fix it again and most likely go out of her way to do so. More flys with honey than vinegar, ya know? ;)

I hope it works out really well.

just a thought.....did you check the two different number belts.....are they the ones for the power steering and the smog pump? Maybe they sent you an entire set???? Just a thought

Hey...I'm not upset about the whole thing. Amanda included a note that said she was including an extra set just to make sure that I got 2 sets so I give her credit for that. As I said in my post...in the end, I did get what i ordered, but it's a shame that the "little extra" that they did with the extra free belts and the keychain and eating the additional shipping were negated by giving me the wrong extra belts.

So in the end, I jusy got what i ordered...no harm, no foul.

Perhaps one of the belts is for power steering?

Sounds like at the end of the day the fixed their mistake and gave you a freebie. Good deal I'd say.
The note from amanda was a nice touch, not many companies or employees would do that.

I have ordered a couple things from them including my latest purchase... a full set of exterior window wipes. Got them on, b#tched and complained about how they didn't fit, the clips were in the wrong locations, sent them pictures showing the difference between the originals and the replacements they sent. Then got a polite note stating that there are "front" and "rear" wipes and that I had put them on the wrong windows. Took them outside, looked at them and by golly they will fit if you put them on the right windows. They sent me a partial set (I gladly paid) for the wipes I broke the clips off of. Now if they just put a note stating there are two different pairs in the bag maybe the next guy won't have to screw them up like I did. I'd order from them again... not their fault I didn't know what I was doing.

Well, I've ordered several things from there over the last year or so...a new grille, hood release cable, some emblems, weatherstrip kit, and some other stuff I can't remember right now and the biggest issue I've had is that the master weatherstrip kit was missing a bunch of stuff. I called and they sent me what was missing and when I got that box I was still missing a few items so I called back again and they sent me the rest of it, or well they were supposed to, and in the end I was still missing a set of screws that were supposed to be in there. At that point I didn't feel like calling again over some screws so I let it go at that. I've never had a problem with the products so much, but 61Hawk I ran into the same issue like you did with the window wipes and even though I still maintain that they aren't a 100% exact replacement fit because one wipe out of the bunch is very obviously longer than the rest (by an almost undetectable amount I may say though), it does definitely help if you know that you gotta line up the clips right and put them on the right doors! ;)

I have power steering pump belts and they are not the ones that they sent.

As for the window wipes, I ordered them all from BJ's and they were the same thing...the clips didn't match the holes in the door....and most of them were marked. I just got out my dremel tool and augmented the holes and they all installed fine.

I've ordered from them, and aside from it being a little pricy, been very pleased...you can get stuff quickly from them you just can't get elsewhere easily...placing another order next week!
