Okay, anybody here with operating factory foglamps? How about something close to factory? Mine still aren't working, and it's irking the cr*p out of me. Where is the relay for these things? I bought some wire loom in preparation for ripping the old off and tracing wires, but I really, really don't want to get into that. I'm not sure I can remove my grill without having to rig it back when I'm finished. So, I'm taking the lazy way out! All I need is the location of the relay that switches the lights on when tripped by the dash switch. I know the circuit's good up to that point, and I want to test the relay to see if it's the weak spot. Thanks!

I just looked at my 88 and I think I found it. Look for a small(1"x1") black box right behind the coolant overflow tank hooked to fenderwell on the driver's side. It has 4 wires going into it and the foglights turned off when I unplugged it. Good luck.

When I first got my 86 GW the foglamps didn't work either. I traced it down to corroded soldered connections behind the grill. The grill in mineis really easy to take out. All you need is neddle nose plyers or I used needle holders like they use in the hospital, to just pull out the center of the plastic fastner

Mike, I didn't have time to really do anything with them. I found the relay--can I just clean this thing off? I'm broke until Jan 9th-ish when my student loan check comes in, so hopefully I won't have to buy anything! We're getting some fog here so I kinda need the lights--plus, they just look cool http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif I'll check into in once I've fully woken up.
Now if only I could get the cruise control to work...
Thanks for all the help, fellas.

Fog lamp problems solved with a $15 dollar relay (duh). If you're interested, it's Carquest part # EC-RY116. They're not very bright (AFAICT--it's daytime) so I might do what Monster Mash (I think) did: use 100 watt bulbs instead. What else did you do to beef up the system, MM?
