What exactly is POR 15? Is it good stuff to use on floor pans? If it is good stuff, where can I buy some. I had a body repair man tell me about some new brush-on product that dries as hard as concrete. Is he talking about POR15? Thanks for any advise.
Do a search for POR 15. You'll find lots of stuff.

I had the same problem on my roofrack with POR15 peeling. Seems like I over prepped the metal. I think that it adheres the best when you just wire brush the metal to remove loose particles, then use their Metal Ready to prime...........phil

How long was it before it began to peel? I just coated by floorboards and a transfer case with the stuff believing it was bullet proof.

mine started to peel in about a month, however as I stated I think I overprepped the metal leaving nothing for it to "bite" into.........phil

I did the inside of my floors with it over the summer and it seems to be holding up pretty good. I bought the floor pan kit and followed the instructions..I'm very happy with it(although if it peels up I won't be) My floor was pretty pocked though so I'm sure there's lots of bite...except the new stuff I had to put in...no pocks there...but Like I said I just followed all of their steps...

POR is UV sensitive, it will break down if exposed to sunlight/UV rays. Supposedly, if a top coat of regular paint is put on, it won't happen. But, I only have used it on areas that hopefully will never see sunlight, such as frames, etc.

If you have a fiberglass dealer in your area, go for coal-tar epoxy. The stuff kicks butt and adheres to bare metal extremely well. I did a set of fuel tanks with it at work, tried to scratch them the next day and it took a lot of force on a large screw driver to get it to scratch. Didn't get down to metal, but you could see the scratch.

I top coated mine also and it pealed, also tried bare metal and primer, still pealed. Only times it seems to stick for me is if the metal is VERY rough. Also has taken about 1 to 6 months for me.
