Has anyone turned there rear leaf springs around backward ( shorter end at the back) to push the rear axle back more?

I did the front on my wag, and I have a friend that has done both front and rear. He used non-waggy springs, 'Yota if I recall, they were like 4-5 inches offset and really moved the axle.
You'll need to look into a new driveshaft and look at the brake lines and rear pinion angle.

All 1976-91 FSJ rear springs have a 5" offset -- short end to the front. 1974 and earlier Wagoneer and Cherokee rear springs are center punched and are post mount.

would a longer driveshaft be required on a shackle flipped 360 727 combo? anyone know?

would a longer driveshaft be required on a shackle flipped 360 727 combo? anyone know?Yes. I shackle-flipped the rear of my 88 and with the truck sitting on its weight, the stock shaft will bolt-up, but it is fully extended it will need to be 2 to 3 inches longer. I have a 360/727/np229.

That's with the rear springs flipped?

No that's with the rear shackles flipped. the shackle flip (going down like the front) will increase the ride height and also increase the distance between the transfer case and the pinion.
The rear spring reversal will move the axles backwards quite a bit.

im aware on the shackle flip, im just wondering about combining the two as i would really like the added departure angle

Oh...well with both spring reversal and shackle flip I imagine your Drive shaft would be pretty short. You'd be going up about 6" and back 4-5" I think.

you mean pretty long? wouldn't flipping the sides of the springs result in a longer wheelbase or already oriented with the long end towards the front of the vehicle?
im just looking for a cheap and easy way to stretch the rear end out a little bit
Long side is to the rear in stock configuration.

cool, thanks tad, i might try flipping them after the SOA and shackle flip is all said and done and i can afford a rear driveshaft
