chg pinion seal w/out pulling diff?

can you change the pinion gear without pulling the diff out? thinking that I could pull the nut and the ujoint keeper, drill into the seal so that I could get some small sheet metal screws to bite and then tear the seal out. then seat the new seal and button it up without ever getting into the diff.

anybody done this? possible?

Yes it is easy to do remove Yolk and I use a Seal puller but you can use a small pry bar. Be sure to Torque Pinion to 210 Ft LBS if a D44 If D60 260 Ft LBS ;)
