The 91 GW was the last production auto in the US to be manufactured with a carb. I think.

Actually the last vehicle in the US with carb was the 95 Justy (subaru?) I wonder why the GW's never got EFI? Chrysler had it in 86 or so on some 318's.

Because Chrysler didn't buy AMC untill mid 1987 (88's really the first MOPAR built Jeeps) and because Chrysler motors are completely different so the parts wouldn't swap over.
I'm pretty sure Subarus were fuel injected by the late 80s. The last carbed car sold was a crapbox isuzu truck. The GW was the last American vehicle to be carbed either way. The isuzu was only made until 1993, 1 year after GWs stopped being made (remember the 4 1992 wags?).
