Is this the unit under the dash. That was OEM if so. Anyhow its not a hard thing to pull out. Lots of sheetmetal screws along the bottom of the dash, seperatate hoses under the hood and pull the unit out. Then the Compressor is no big deal. If this is some other type of AC system, I have no idea.

The unit in my J10 is under the dash, but not factory, two of the vents are badly broken, and the compressor doesn’t work. The truck runs a little warm, I’m also thinking that the “radiator” thing up front of my new radiator may be interrupting the air flow. I would rather be warm than my truck.

Have you tried cleaning the radiator fins?? Clean them with a hose from the engine side. Have you seen the factory air units?? They do have a bolted on look to them, and 1978 was a bit late for many aftermarket A/C units since the factory was offering them at such a good price.

Is that "Radiator' for the air conditioning unit called a radiator? What ever it is is held in place with what looks like plumbers straps! Any way to clean it out I have to pull it. Better get wrenching and not typing.
