M/C 2150: if check ball was missing?

if the check ball that goes into the carb was missing what problems would there be, if any?

Not sure about the 2150, but here's what the 76 TSM says about the 2100's accelerator pump. "A discharge check ball and weight prevents air from being drawn into the pump chamber." It seems that the pump won't work properly and you will get stumble right off idle.
