My truck is stumbling really bad. It won't idle at all and it runs
really rough. There is a lot of black smoke coming out of the
exhaust, which smells like gas. Seems like I'm running waaaaaay too
rich :) I pulled my air filter to see if the choke was open, and
there was some smoke coming out of the carb (some Holley 4bbl). This
is the second time it happened to me. Both times after climbing a
very steep and long hill next to my school. The first time it began
to run normally after a while, but this time it doesn't seem to go
away. It only runs reasonably good when I give it a lot of gas. Any
ideas?
Thanks.

Either the needle is stuck off its seat, or you've blown a power valve (one backfire will do it).

Hey,that's great! Maybe that's what my problem it,my wagon is too pampered. I'm going to give it a few good wacks when the snow lets up.
