Anyone know the differences in the master cylinders used throughout the FSJ lifespan? I'm looking specifically for bore sizes and proportioning valve changes.

I think my '72 wagoneer mc is a 1" bore, and I'm wondering why this mc won't work with 4 wheel discs & 3/4 ton calipers.

In '74 did the mc change? Did the bore size change?

My current setup is 4 wheel drum, and I will be going to 4 wheel discs. Do calipers require more line pressure than drums, more fluid?

Ideally I would like to use my stock setup, but I will change whatever needs to be changed so I can lock up 37's on dry pavement. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I don't know the specifics on the master the cylinders but calipers require more volume than wheel cylinders. I am having problems with mine not moving enough volume for my front duel piston calipers. I have had the time to experiment with other calipers. I was thinking a ford 1 ton master but don't know yet.
