I am new to the forum and this is my second 1990 Grand Wagoneer. I am having some issues with it staying started and passing emissions, does anyone know of a good local mechanic that is reasonable and honest?

You might want to be more specific as to your location in Phoenix, it's a pretty big place. Joe Daro at Absolute Offroad has a really good reputation with the local Jeepers and He's in Phoenix.

I am in the NorthWest Valley, but don't mind driving for a reasonable and honest mechanic.

I second Joe at Absolute Offroad. He is on 35th ave just south of Indian School. East side of the road.

If you don't mind the drive Salem Boys is a good choice. They are in Tempe on Warner near I10. Certainly not a discount place but they do good work and usually get it right the first time.

I had them fix my waggy gas tank after another mechanic tried two or three times. They also fixed my A/C in my waggy (I didn't have time to mess with it).

They pretty much do all of the work on my wifes 2002 liberty.

And welcome to the board!

Look in the events section, a bunch of us are meeting out in Florence for a trail ride. If you can't make the trail ride you can always show up and hang out for a bit before we leave. Watch for a BBQ next week too.
