My ac clutch on my 85 GW w/360 went and it's squealing badly, someone told me if I disengage it it will stop. How do I do this?

If your A/C is not on, it's disengaged. It'll squeal anyway, does it squeal with the A/C on? Mine stopped with the A/C compressor engaged. You can remove the belts, and buy shorter ones to by-pass the A/C. Auto Zone has compressor clutches for 89.00. Or possibly a used one somewhere. Spray something like WD-40 in the seam of the compressor quiets it for a while. But you're going to have to replace it to stop the noise.

I tried the wd-40 and it works for about a minute. The squeeling still occurs when the ac is on.

Sounds like you need a new a/c clutch- bearings are squeeling. Try disconnecting the wiring plug at the front of the a/c compressor to see if this disengages the clutch.
