View Full Version : Who is Where in Canada...

So TazJeeper got me wondering... Where DO all the Canadians with FS Jeeps live? So I went through the Members list (yes, all 19,000+ of them) and pulled out the names and cities of all the Canadian members. And before I answer the question that was bugging me I'll answer yours in that... Yes, I do have a lot of time on my hands and No, I don't have anything better to do! :p

1 PEI
6 NB
4 Newfoundland
14 QC
10 NS
16 MB
18 SK
113 AB
119 ON
138 BC
82 Canada
4 NWT
1 Yukon
526

So a grand total of 526 members in Canada give or take as I'm going to assume some of these were duplicates and there are also going to be members that didn't put down that they were in Canada at all. The Canada line is for people that only put down that they were in Canada, but didn't give a province. I have breakdowns of cities as well if anyone really cares. This 526 also doesn't tell us if people that actually OWN a FSJ, the number of them they own or if they are active members or not. It was neat to see who was lived near me for instance that maybe one day we can all get together and have a drink or two. :alc:

Great info, eh?

FSJ's are starting to run a little scarce around here but we're keeping the faith.

That's a nice truck you have there, Greg! (cute dog too). There are a total of 20 members listed in Edmonton.. well at one point. I can't wait to get our waggy back together so we can meet up with some of the other owners in our area!

Here's the link for our build so far-

Just getting up to be my daily driver that will still be fun to take off road to some of the crown land around here. Hubby wants to but a 4bt into it, but not til next year by the looks of things. So first we're getting the frame all cleaned up, new parts, etc. Then we'll worry about the holes in the floors (they aren't too bad). Then we'll worry about seats and interior, paint, etc. We're to the point of putting the frame and axles back together. So much cooler than my Yukon could have ever been, yet bigger than my Cherokee! The perfect rig!

Hi,

I bought the GW from a guy who lived in Clinton, ON. Since I was coming from Toronto, he was nice enough to meet me halfway in Kitchener to do the deal.
Is the other guy in the KW area on this forum?

I am on Jeepkings too since I also have a TJ but I'm not the guy you're referring to. I almost bought a GW posted on Jeepkings back in the summer but it was sold the night before I got back to Toronto. The guy selling it was in Burlington. Dunno who ended up buying it but is was a 1989 Dover Gray GW with a lift.

That GW that you are referring to is the one that got the ball rolling here. We really wanted one that was smog exempt. We got ours north of Orangeville... Drove by it on the way to a Drs appt. Looked at it before the appt and bought it after the appt...lol. Picked it up that weekend and then came back a few weeks later to pick up the parts GW that came with it.

The other guy from KW area is named Jason. He has an orange Cherokee. My husband has also seen a nice J truck around Brantford on the 403. There are a few other FSJ owners on Jeepkings as well. Maybe in the spring time we'll have to get everyone together at our house for a meet. :fsj:

Not a Canadian, but just a little south here in Minnesota, FSJ are thined out pretty good here too, the rest of the U.S. thinks of MN as southern Canada anyway.

I've only seen 1 FSJ here in NL since moving back 6 months ago. I never say any when I lived in Ontario.

Add another member for NL though I don't have an FSJ yet, I am looking.

I don't own an FSJ, but I'm probably going to be getting ahold of a truck and a flatbed trailer and making the trek down to Alberta to try and pick up one myself.

In the meantime, research and drooling. :p

We're pretty close to each other. Do you hit the meets in Brantford at all? Haven't made on yet, but looking forward to making it to one. We'll have to get together at some point. We should be moving to Scotland, On shortly if all goes well. I've been following your thread on Jeepkings, but didn't know you were in Ontario.. I assumed you were out in BC since your location says west coast. I guess I missed the Ontario's part of it! We've got an 82 Wagoneer and a 86 parts Grand Wagoneer.

lol.... i always throw people off with my location. im actually near grand bend hence the "ontarios west coast". As for the brantford meets, its a bit far for me, but if all goes to plan, im going to try and have the waggy ready for the Baja club's show/shine in april in brampton.

the paint might not be done, but will hopefully have the lift installed.

Ah, yes.. it would be a drive then..lol. With the new house, we'll get a new shop as well. So I can't see our waggy going anywhere til we move in the summer. Working on a waggy in even an oversized two car garage is less than ideal. Once we get it on the road maybe we can try and find who else has them and find a central meeting spot. Be fun to get everyone in one place and swap horror stories!

I am in Prince George, BC. My '73 J-4000 is being parted out. I have plans for the frame and drivetrain. Anyone ever seen a CJ on full width axles? Well, I plan to start with the full width axles (and frame) from the J-4000 and put a CJ3B body on it. It will likely get the body shortened into a cab and use parts of the pick-up box to make a narrowed one to fit behind the CJ. Probably will shorten the frame too. Maybe I will even try to use the roof of the cab off the truck as a removable hard top on the CJ, complete with brow! Doing it this way because my CJ3B has papers and the the truck does not.

East end of the GTA here. Bought a 91 Gwag (built June 13, 1991) in 2007 for $500 near High Park. Put probably $600 into it and 4 years of labour; just got on the road in August. No woodgrain, and a Custom Designed/Fabbed front utility bumper. Painted using Tremclad (cuz its bound to happen again). Check out My Resto-Blog @ http://ericspringate.blogspot.com/
Future Plans include a 2"-3" lift, rear bumper, better tires, (maybe a rebuilt 360), and enough seals to placate the rigs insatiable urge to drip all it's vitals all over the place.
