ok guys worked on jeep with someone who knows what he is doing and we firgured out the mopar orange ecu just kind of fired when it felt like it, we did hear it try to start which was sort of relieving, then when i wired in the duraspark, it did nothing, it is mounted on a bolt that used to hold the evap canister on the firewall of the CJ, is this not a good enough ground or could it just be wiring? i also think if i get an MSD i can just get rid of all this other wiring, so does anyone have it wired into their waggy,cj or whatever with the duraspark ignition? did you choose the distributor trigger orthe coil? does anyone have one?
thanks

I personally use a fender bolt for my ground, works fine, probably would be better to go to the battery, especially if you're having problems.
I've got a MSD 6 off-road, I'm using the magnetic pickup from the stock distributor.
Eliminate the duraspark from the equation, the msd diagrams (if you don't have you instructions, they have the diagrams on the website) show how to wire the MSD in conjunction with the duraspark box, or to eliminate it... Also allows down the road in case of failure, the option of reconnecting the stock ignition to get you home.
Mine is currently setup so all I have to do is plug the factory ecu back in (the 2 plugs are disconnected) and plug the coil back into the stock harness (slightly modified, used a GM weatherpack connector for the coil), and I'm back on the duraspark ignition.
