so I go to look at a 90 wagoneer that was parked in a barn in 98. I get their and the owner says here it is we will have to unscrew the doors and open it. can you do that I am sick and that is why I am selling the old jeep.
then said he parked here and had the barn built around it. LOL
I wanted so bad to open the doors I forgot to take a pick before we opened them.. oh well no big deal..
here is what I found. its a 90 tires are half flat, gold with tan int,
360 auto, d44 front and rear, I could only see a few spots of rust. the frame and underneath seem to be in realy nice shape rust scales but its a 90..
What do you think????

$900!!!! Dang man, you stole it. It looks to be in pretty god shape. I think it's funny that he built the barn around it.LOL!

07-26-2010, 03:02 PM
yeah he was moving out of cuntry and its at the summer house so it had to be stored... heheheaaaa

it is so tight around the jeep that you can only open a door about 3 inches... he left that back window down to get in it when he was going to move it...

I screwed the doors back on the barn so when I go pick it up I will take a bunch of pics...

That is freakin' SWEET!

Like Tad suggests, take your time and go through everything but $900 is a steal!

07-26-2010, 03:38 PM
You stole that.

Being a Mass rig, it had to pass fairly strict emissions and testing, so should be in top shape. Congrats!

If you find the red 87 Grand Wag Ltd my mom sold in Webster, Mass in 98 let me know :P

this waggy is in Canada.. yes mass plates but has been in Canada for years at the summer house..
oh yeah I will take my time and go over everything,,, I orderd new gasket set for it already... I will take the covers off the housings and change the oil, t-case you name it.. its going to be the new baby runner for my wife to drive so it has to be tip top... that way I can have my j10 just for me to drive..LOL
cant wait to install the 6' lift and 33's that are sitting here waiting for the waggy to come home. LOL
and yes its a true barn find...
I can't wait till next month when the owner of the 82 j10 and 89 waggy is home so I can buy them.. they are both good barn finds aswell... low kilometers and in realy nice one owner shape..

Nice find , it must be barn find time. I was at the gas station the other day and over heard the owner and his father talking about a jeep they were gonna haul to the scrap yard. So naturally I had to inquire. Turns out the guy has a 91 with a burnt valve that he's scrapping. So I followed him to his house looked at it. Not bad shape. Then he says he has one in the barn for 10 years. So of coarse we open the barn and there sits an 84 j10 low milage no rust. He parked it cause it broke a spring on the pressure plate. Anyway he was scraping both. So $800 later I have two more jeeps. There are good finds out there. You just gotta be in the right place I guess.

07-27-2010, 09:15 AM
I have to take one boat ride to an other island then a boat ride to the main land... each ride is 1/2hr and its about 15min from my place to the first boat. and the same to the next. then just 1 min to the jeeps place of rest at this time...
so when I went over yesterday from my place to theirs and back was 4hr..
so here is where I pay the price for the jeep. when I leave my place on sunday I will be 2hrs to their place . then 2 or 3 hours gitting that jeep wedged out of the barn,,, pump up tires might have to unstick the breaks as they could be stuck from sitting.
load on my trailer and hit the boats again...
Its going to be an all day thing I just know it... and I will be doing it myself...
but sometimes you have to pay a big price for a great jeep... hahhahahaaaa
I will take lots of pics

they loved the jeep and they gave me some holemade bluebarrie jam and said when the Jeep is all up and running bring it over so we can take it for a good by drive please.
I laughed and said no problem you cooking the lunch? they both laughed and said oh yeah your guys can eat and we will go for a drive,,,,

well I changed the oil, put fresh gas in the tank, changed the tranny and t-case fluid and poored a bit of gas in the carb.. 3 cranks and vrooooooommmmmmmm:drivin: I was driving around the yard...

the oil pan was leaking before they parked the jeep, the gasket around the thermostat aswell...
I ordered all gaskets and seals.... I am going to change them all so I do not have problems over winter...
the manifold gasket on the passingerside is leaking so I will change them aswell...
what a great riding Jeep...:fsj:
its a great feeling to have it run... everything elts is just playing now...
oh and a breakline to the front has to be changed but I have lines for the hole thing and pads and shoes so I will swap it all out....

thanks man.. the plane went like this... I have been looking and looking for the right one to keep for my wife to drive and us to have as the family wagon for a long time.
I found a 89 waggy one owner in just as good if not better shape then this one and he will sell me his 82 j10 as a package deal.. he has owned the j10 from new aswell.
In the waitting game of comming up with the cash and him on vacation this one came up f/s for way less money.
so I was going to bring it home sell it and buy the other waggy and the j10.
My wife took one look and said, thats a keeper...LOL the baby was at the wheel going vrooooooom vrooom:drivin: before she got all the words out..

So now I am going to get the other jeeps ( I hope if all goes well) at the end of the month and sell them to suport the habit of a bigger garage and more jeeps...
now the 89 waggy and the 82 j10 will be sold off as soon as they are home.. I had planed to sell the j10 anyway so, like I say everytime I sell a jeep I can not keep them all but I had fun driving them well I owned them...:fsj: :drivin:

You are in New Brunswick, right?I was in your neck of the woods 2 weeks ago, passing thru to Newfoundland. On the way back,I spotted a FSJ Cherokee sitting in front of a junkyard, green in color,on highway 1,I believe it was in between St Steven&St John.It is visable from the highway, the yard's sign is made from a VW bus.I know these are scarce up in the maritimes,so you might want to check it out,if you go that way at all.

When you have the pan off, check it really well for rust through. The end run 5.9s are prone to this.

good thinking.. I wallways clean a oil pan before I put it back on.. scrub and scrub everything off it... so if its rotted I will know... then I will have to pull the new one off the 76 plow truck and use it.. lol

you just keep rubbing it in! "Even the tags still look new!" Cmon now. I spent all day with a wire brush and rusty metal primer. Yesterday, I lit the carpet on fire trying to heat the seat mount bolts with a torch. In my defense, I was only removing seats to remove carpet, so the collateral damage was not an issue. But still, the tags? You're killing me smalls. killing me.

Ok, Im just jealous. Nice wag.
