Just came back from the U pick you told me about.
Wow three FSJs two Q tracs with Hi low and one part time kit.
the wagoneer in the middle is in better shap bodywise than mine.
I pulled the 4bbl intake but it wouldnt work on a Q jet. Took it by the GMs and tried installing a Q jet on it. No way it wont happen. These AMCs have funky mounting setups.
Too much gunk on it to see if its a 401 or 360.
I am still deliberating about the intake. unless you want it its all ready pulled.
otherwise i'll just get it tommorow.

These intakes can be made to work you just need to retain the plastic adapter plate and use a univeral speadbore adapter. I have posted many times on this.

Go for it Rudy. There was only 3 left?? I'll post the address here if it's ok with ya Rudy so you can get what ya need. Let Me know or you go ahead and post it yourself.
Joe, I let Rudy in on this as I knew he was looking for some stuff at the time. I just want to make sure he gets what he needs before I post the address. Hope ya understand.

Thanx red dog for the info. Just curious, is this U pick located on the same lot as another salvage yard called Memory lane? I also emailed rudy with the other address I had mentioned before.

If your not familar with the area there are a bunch of salvage yards around there. I know of Memory Lane but I am not sure exactly where they are located. There were 5 FSJs at this place 2 weeks ago. Prior to that I had only seen 1 (about a 65 J-3000) there all the times I had been there before. I would visit them A.S.A.P. I'll try to let you know if I see anything in the future.
Good Luck!
Hey Rudy,
Did you check the voltage your getting at the coil?? How long have your plugs been fouling?? Every checked the compression??

Sorry for the delay. My computer LOST the modem driver again so I had to go to my brothers house to get the CDROM for it.
And well one margarita let to another.
I got mostly everything i needed. I will go back there this morning to pick up the intake and a dual pully alt. The DSPO replaced this one with a single pulley unit. I didnt take my inpact driver yesterday so I didnt get it then.
At first I wasnt even going to take the intake but JeepFreak talked me into it.
And I found a 4300 motorcraft/autilite carb off a 460 lincoln that can be rejetted to work by my local carb guy. Or i can adapt a Qjet per Jeep freaks tip. Anyway its cheaper than a new aftermarket intake. Especiallly since the intake I like is no longer being made by holley (the street dominator intake).
REDDOG I get like 9-10 volts on the+ side of the coil. I put in new plugs and rigged a jumper wire to bypass the coil to the DFuraspark big red wire on the dual prong plug. now I get a full 12 volts.
Is there a good reason to use the metal full valley intake manifold? the other ones are cheaper.
I cant get an adjustment on the drivers side idle speed adjustment srew. I only runs better when its almost fully seated. The passenger side gets a better adjustment.
well gotta get ready to go there again.
Maybe I'll see ya guys there.

Did the full 12 volts make any difference?? I don't know that I would run it long that way as getting more than 12 volts to the coil may overheat it. It was recommended to me to keep the resistor wire in place when running the TFI coil. I said to try it just to see if low voltage to the coil was causing your problem with plug fouling.
If the idle screw is not making a difference then that is not a good thing. You may be adjusting the other screw additionally to try to compensate for that. That problem may well be your rough idle issue, although I don't know how much that could cause ALL your plugs to foul. If you need to turn the screw almost all the way in then maybe somehow your getting fuel into the idle circuit from somewhere else. Its too early for me to think how that could happen on the 2150, but it sounds like your on the right track.
If you read this before you go to the yard then make sure to get the EGR parts along with your manifold!!
Kerry
I would keep the full metal intake gasket. it helps keep hot oil off the intake manifold thus the incoming air is cooler. This equals more power.

OK back from the U pick with one AMC 4v intake and a dual belt alt pulley. All for a grand total of $22.00.

OK I'm one happy camper.
EGR was gone but my egr is only a year and 1/2 old or the POs recipts said.
All i need is a EDELBROCK or AFB or holley square bore carb to plunk on there.
anyone out there got one cheep?
